ARSENAL completed the double over Burnley by coming from behind to knock the young guns out of the FA Youth Cup.

Unlike their senior counterparts, who suffered FA Cup heartbreak five days earlier, the youths got a dream start when Adam Kay scored from the spot inside two minutes.

But just like Owen Coyle's first team, the end result was the same as Arsenal scored five times to comfortably earn a fourth round tie at Liverpool.

A healthy 826-strong crowd at Accrington Stanley's Fraser Eagle Stadium was quickly in voice when, just one minute and 40 seconds in, a hand ball presented the Clarets with a gilt-edged chance.

And skipper Kay grabbed it by confidently stroking the ball home from 12 yards to give Terry Pashley's side the perfect opening.

But the tide turned in the 13th minute, when luck totally deserted Daniel MacDonald.

The Burnley goalkeeper somehow dropped a bouncing ball straight at the feet of Henri Lansbury and watched in horror as the England U17 midfielder slotted the ball into an empty net.

Another bad defensive mistake then handed the Gunners the initiative in the 20th minute.

A poor clearance allowed Lansbury to cross from the right and Mark Randall coolly curled another half clearance home from 18 yards.

Arsenal came close again soon after, hitting the roof of the crossbar through Randall's looping header.

But the visitors soon grabbed their third, killer goal in the 41st minute when Kieran Gibbs scored from an acute angle at the second attempt following a superb block by Chris Lynch.

MacDonald kept Burnley's hopes alive three minutes after the restart, making a terrific block to deny Gibbs after the Arsenal winger went on a mazy dribble.

But in the 51st minute, Lansbury made it 4-1 with a fierce far post volley from Randall's raking, left wing cross.

And the England U17 midfielder, who like Randall was on the bench at Turf Moor five days earlier, completed his hat-trick 17 minutes from time with a deflected drive that left MacDonald helpless.
