It was the Irish show at Turf Moor on Tuesday night, as three of Burnley's Dublin born midfield contingent netted to seal a comprehensive 3-0 win over Ipswich Town.
James and Garreth O'Connor scored to put Burnley 2-0 up before 18-year-old substitute Chris McCann added his first goal for the club in the late stages to ensure a first league win in seven games.
The Clarets were on top throughout and it was a fully deserved three points to give a much needed boost against a highly rated Town side who won at Leeds United on Saturday.
Much has been made of the slice of luck needed by the Clarets in recent weeks and they certainly took advantage of that in this game although there were several superb individual performances for Burnley, none more so than the two O'Connors who were excellent throughout.
Burnley's first effort on target came after just four minutes of the game, when Ade Akinbiyi broke in from the right, beating two defenders before firing in a right footed shot which Lewis Price did well to save.
At the other end, a swift counter attack by Ipswich saw Sam Parkin sent clear by Jim Magilton, but after wrong footing two defenders and shuffling into space he placed his shot just wide of the post.
Town had half a penalty shout soon after when Owen Garvan tumbled over in the area under a challenge from Frank Sinclair, but the referee ruled it out with the young midfielder falling a little too easily.
The Clarets really should have taken the lead in the 12th minute, as Akinbiyi beat the offside trap to burst into the area, again from the right. He had time to set his sights, but perhaps too much time to think about it and when he placed a low shot at goal Price guessed right and made a good save.
Burnley were showing most of the attacking prowess and it was only after Ipswich had begun to force themselves on the game that the Clarets took the lead in the 32nd minute. A ball over the top picked out James O'Connor in space and his shot from 25 yards took a deflection off Jason De Vos and looped over the head of Price and into the goal.
The Clarets continued to press straight after the goal and another ball into the corner was picked up by Akinbiyi in the 33rd minute. He looked up and played a ball into the box for John Spicer, but he miscued his shot and the chance had gone to leave Burnley ahead at the break.
Burnley started the second half well and Akinbiyi came close almost straight away, when his drilled low drive was turned wide by Price for a corner.
He then broke through following a flick by Spicer, but shot into the side netting after appearing to have his shirt tugged by De Vos in the area.
Ipswich's inept full back Luis Castro Sito almost gave a goal away for the umpteenth time in the 56th minute, when he dallied on the ball and allowed James O'Connor to block his clearance. It fell to Akinbiyi, but the Clarets striker slipped as he was about to shoot and another opportunity went begging.
Burnley were pushing for and deserved a second and it duly arrived in the 71st minute, when Graham Branch was dragged down 25 yards from goal. Four Burnley players stood over the ball and it looked as though Jon Harley was set to strike, but when Micah Hyde touched the ball to the right up stepped Garreth O'Connor to strike home a beautiful shot into the bottom corner.
With 15 minutes to go Burnley made their first switch of the night with Chris McCann replacing the impressive Spicer and it didn't take long for the 18-year-old to register his first effort, with a crisp left footer unfortunate to hit Akinbiyi's backside on its way to goal.
Akinbiyi had another good chance to add his eighth of the season, when Garreth O'Connor crossed from the right but Akinbiyi placed his far post header wide of the post.
Burnley were well on top by now though and they added a third goal in the 87th minute when Garreth O'Connor's corner was headed home by McCann for his first goal for the club.
That proved to be the last action of the evening and gave the Clarets a much needed boost ahead of Friday's trip to Molineux to face Wolverhampton Wanderers.
