Hello and welcome to the third update surrounding the exciting redevelopment of Turf Moor & Gawthorpe. Although there seems to be little happening, I can ensure there is plenty going on behind the scenes.

The application for phase two of the redevelopment of Turf Moor will be sent to Burnley council within the next month or so. After gaining planning permission for the first phase of the redevelopment, the building process of phase one will not begin until phase two of the application is also successful.

We have gained full planning permission for phase one which probably was the biggest hurdle and we are now in a position where we are ready to push the button to put a full specification together.

At the moment we're just waiting because we need to get planning permission for phase two before we build phase one.

The new players' block

The redevelopment of Turf Moor is probably one of the biggest planning applications to go into Burnley council and senior club officials have met with a number of companies

We have had meetings with key people - Burnley vision board, Lancashire sport, Lancashire economic partnership, the FA, Sport England and the next meeting is with local authorities and Burnley council.

We're trying to show people how the development is not just good for Burnley Football Club, but also for the town

Phase two is very complicated, it takes into consideration local residents who we are meeting with,  traffic plans, parking plans and how the away supporters will get in and out of the ground.

Both supporters and officials of the club are looking forward to the £30m redevelopment of Turf Moor and Stadium Manager Doug Metcalfe is excited about what the changes will bring to the club.

"It's going to mean that there will be more money coming into the club. We're going to have a stand that you may see being used every single day of the week, which will have a hotel, exhibitions, conferences, weddings and a multitude of different events'

"Clearly these events mean revenue and the more revenue the club makes, the more money that we're able to pass over to the manager to strengthen the side.'

"We're not trying to build Burnley Football Club for the next two years; we're trying to build it for the next generation of spectators."
